Not “better” but they’ll work better as you progress. Back before the Playstation it was hard to name a 3D game. Now we’re onto the PS3 it’s hard to name a game with a 2D graphics engine. No AAA title will be released with a 2D grpahics engine. Try and follow the history of game design and you’ll be on roughly the right path.
To get higher chance to obtain good scores (~ 9) don’t make AAA Games. It is possible to get 100M units sold with Large Games, and it’s my case. I got a score 9.25 at ~ Y100 … 110M units sold. The best way to win the achievement is an MMO. You have to keep it on the market, event if the game don’t generate income.
Make the AAA title like a large game, but do a round of staff training first, maybe even two. AAA titles are expected to be markedly better than mere Large games are. Use boosts during that training to get the best impact out of it.
Game Dev Tycoon. MMO maintenance cost. I think the MMO maintenance costs shouldnt go up so fast. It makes it impossible to release more than 1 expansion for your AAA MMO game. My mmo had 9.75 in score and was the best seller. Its 2nd expansion had around 9 in score but im barerly making any profit since the maintenance costs are incredebly high.
