Also slightly better fuel economy because it takes less car structure = less steel = less weight to build a trunk than a hatch. Not true. Most sedans tend to be heavier than the Hatchback but not by much or in some cases, the same weight. Example: a Mazda3 hatchback is 3092 lb, a sedan is 3100lb.

The sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.26 and the hatchback has a drag coefficient of 0.28. very minor difference. Still, sedan is more efficient, stating otherwise is wrong. It equates to 1 mpg difference, and considering the Mazda 3 gets in the 30s, that's a 3% difference. Hardly a reason to shop a sedan over a hatchback.
