So, when you connect up your Android phone via USB cable, you should see on the screen that Android Auto is available (you switch between it and the Mazda system by holding down the Home key for about a second). Once in AA, you should see your navigation screen split with your audio feed of choice, such as Spotify, YouTube Music, etc.
Yeah, thanks I've seen that code and may give it a shot. The conundrum is that apparently if you install Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, which I would like to do, the tweak disabling the screen stops working once you open AA/CarPlay. So I'm considering buying the AA/Carplay kit and physically disconnecting the touchscreen when I do the install. In my other vehicle, I have wireless android auto and a tray where I can drop the phone in for charging at the same time.. It is AWESOME. No cables, charges and all the AA features.. Set the phone down and go.. It has been absolutely perfect. I am now looking to do the same thing in my new CX-5.
We have an order in for the CX90 PHEV GT up in Canada. However looks like it only comes with the 10.25” infotainment display. I’ve seen conflicting answers on whether that is a touchscreen with carplay or android auto. I’m worried that it will be a full dial control, which I’m not sure I can get used to.
5 Photos. And Mazda has confirmed the executive wasn't using the wrong talking points, releasing this official statement summarizing its Miata plans: "Mazda is seeking to electrify the MX-5 Miata It is common in software engineering (i'm a backend software eng) We basically can't wait all users to have X version. So yeah let's just try every new release on our HU. I think from 8.3 is the sweet spot for coolwalk (minimum bugs and media player is showing album art) 1.

Technology features. When it comes to technology features, the new Mazda CX-5 holds its own. Not only does it offer Android Auto compatibility, but it also offers compatibility with Apple CarPlay. These are available on the upper trims but not on the base model.

To use Android Auto on your car display, you'll need an Android phone running Android 6 or higher, an active dataplan, and the Android Auto app. An application which allows the operation of Android TM Smartphone using the mazda connect.

The older 6th gen (smaller screens) were touch only while stopped. The newer 10.5 inch screens are no touch at all, ever. Not true. The CX-50 has touch-enabled carplay, and it touch while driving can be enabled in the menu. I'm guessing this will come to the next set of model revisions as time goes on.
